![]() Ladies and Gentlemen, first off, welcome to my Wall of Evidence (we'll get into that in just a second). Secondly, if you do any type of investigation work, and are not pulling cell tower data, you are missing a tremendous amount of leads and evidence! While preparing for a investigator group presentation, I prepared a slide in which I give the "ABC's of Cell Tower Data". I'm going to be brief in my descriptions but I hope you get the idea. Here we go! A = ALERTS Cell Tower Data gives you a history of where the device has been. And it's not limited by a chip on a phone! Go ahead, get a whole year's records of the cell tower data and watch where that device went (try that with an ordinary cell phone dump). This data will alert you to new areas you need to cover to find additional evidence for your case. Is there a gas station with a video camera that could render some good video for your case? How about highway or toll cameras? Witnesses? Places of interest that you did not realize? The cell tower data can show you areas that you did not even know could be of help to your case. How about that one call all by itself? Check it out, it could be a pizza delivery made to the subject (yeah, you didn't' get that piece of data from the cell phone did you?). No, the towers gave it to you. B = Bonding Material This is substantive data that will not only link other evidence together, it will help build the wall of evidence you are needing for your client. Think of your case as a wall. Each brick is a block of evidence you have either for or against the defendant. Now, the cell tower data is the CEMEMT that can be used to bond the evidence together so that your case is rock solid. C = Corroboration When you are building your wall of evidence, the cell tower data can support your evidence. How? Say your subject has an alibi and witnesses, but no one will believe him or her. The cell tower data may be what you need to show "see, he ain't lying!" Or, your client may have fit the physical description of the bank robber, but...the cell tower data shows his device no where near the crime (and he swears it's always on him!). The tower data supports his claims. Ok, lets flip the coin: you have a receipt of him being in a store right down the street from the crime, blood dripped from his hand in the bathroom. Pull the tower data and viola! Does it show his device in the area of the crime? The cell tower data corroborates and "bonds" with the evidence you have. Slam dunk...let's see LeBron do that! So, whether you are on the prosecution side or the defense side, the cell tower data is invaluable to your cases. So what's holding you back from getting it? The answer? Nothing but a warrant or a subpoena. If you need help writing the warrants or subpoenas, my company specializes in providing exactly what you need to ask for. And...I can map the entire call detail records you get plus present them in a visual presentation. Just give me a call...864-962-7307. If you are already a digital forensics examiner and want to get into cell tower data mapping, I can also help you there. Call me for more info. Thanks for stopping by. Oh and next time you see a cell tower, just remember the power they hold for you and your client. Tom

Cell Tower Data or commonly known as Call Detail Records ("CDRs") are a treasure trove of data (evidence) that many attorneys and investigators miss or are unaware of. CDRs show data such as tower locations, sectors, numbers called or texted as well as many other important facets in how and where the mobile phone device was used.
In fact, the CDRs can give you important evidence that the cell phone cannot provide. Many attorneys and investigators give up if the mobile phone is not available or if the content retrieved gives them little to no evidence. DO NOT STOP WITH THE PHONE! GO FOR THE CDRs! A mobile phone user can delete or wipe data from the phone, but they cannot wipe out the CDR data, which is held by the Cell Service Providers. Now, how do you know if the CDRs you were provided by the Prosecution have not been altered or modified? This is where a competent, well trained professional CDR Analyst comes in handy. The Expert will be able to determine if in fact you were given the proper CDRs as well as the other accompanying data provided by the Prosecution. My company is here to help. Even if you haven't been provided with the CDRs or want to get them because the other side failed to do so, I can help. I can assist your agency in the correct wording you need for your subpoenas as well as to the proper department to submit them to, saving you and your client time and money. Then I can take the data and map it out for you in a clear, concise and professional format that is state of the art and makes juries take notice. Don't stop with the phone, get the CDRs! Call me at 864-967-7307 and let's get you what you need! Tom Slovenski CDR Analyst and Expert Cellular Forensics, LLC ![]() If you are one of the many Americans wanting to have more security on your cell phones, then you need a VPN. So what in the world is a VPN? Here's a great article that can help you: https://techcrunch.com/2017/01/01/wtf-is-a-vpn/ If you are looking for a very good VPN service, I highly recommend this one, Witopia: my.personalvpn.com/ref/gOgl4opn While we're at it, let me give you another great article explaining encryption: www.bigbrotherwatch.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Encryption-1.pdf Recently I was made aware of a popular mobile phone spyware that stated it could be used on "non-jailbroken" iPhones. Since this is down my alley, I decided to look into it. As I researched the software, I noticed that it required the proposed iPhone users iCloud log in credentials. "Ah Ha!", I thought, "now I know what's going on!" You see, I've tested another software just like this before, only it was under another name.
What is happening is this....many iPhone users have their iPhones connected to Apple's iCloud. The iCloud will backup many of the features the user uses on their iPhone such as contacts, pictures, location, call history, etc.. So what this spyware does is after it logs into the victim's iCloud account, the software will scarf up all the data there and then report back to the spyware servers all the items I just listed. All the "bad guy" has to do is log in to the spyware's server and look at all the collected data. And the iPhone user will have no clue how it happened. Will this spyware show up on the iPhone? NO! And that's the "beauty" (if I may use that word) of this type of spyware. You won't see it. So what should an iPhone user do to protect their phone and data? The answer may not be what you want to hear, but it's this: have a very strong password. Your security is as strong as your password, simple as that. I don't make the rules so don't shoot the messenger. And do NOT give out your iCloud credentials to anyone. If you need privacy, you will not get it without taking some precautions. Do not leave your phone lying around and do not give out your passwords. That's a start. Keep them to yourself. Seems Amazon's Echo is coming under fire along with the parent company. A murder had occurred in Arkansas and investigators want to know what "Alexa" heard. Check out this article.
So, what all does Alexa hear and how will the courts deal with it? Welcome to the "Internet of Things". I used to tell clients that unless the "bad guy" had their iPhone in his/her hands, your iPhone could not be remotely infected. Well...times have changed. If you have an iPhone, then you need to read this article and view the video!
How do you stop it? Read the article and you'll see. http://bgr.com/2015/09/16/ios-9-security-fix-airdrop-malware/ The Good News! If you are afraid that your iPhone is infected, give me a call. I specialize in Smart Phone Spyware Discovery and have the equipment and expertise to locate, isolate and report mobile spyware in your smart phone. Unwelcome mobile spyware is WIRETAPPING and a Federal Crime. Don't be a victim! Call me at (864) 962-7307 or write me at tom@cellularforensics.com and we'll arrange an examination of your device. There's no substitution for Peace of Mind. Before we talk about my prices, I need to know....“WHAT ARE YOUR NEEDS?” Specifically, what do you want accomplished in your case? If you don't know what you need, then how can I provide a solution?
I do one thing: I solve problems dealing with mobile phones and their technology. I do not do computers. Why? Computers are something I chose not to mess with. They’re a different animal. Computers have a different type technology while mobile is new, vibrant and constantly evolving. If you want a computer forensics examiner, I can refer you to those across America who are the best in the biz. I will not refer you to those who call me and say “Hey, we’re starting to do phones now because there’s money in them! What do you use?” Losers. However, if your needs deal with a mobile phone, then I’m your man. After you determine what YOUR needs are, you then need to find the examiner who knows how to meet those needs. This is what I bring to the table: I. My Education: I’ve learned from the best in the world. I’m certified and highly trained to handle any of the over 10,000 models of mobile devices in existence today. II. My Equipment: I use the best in software and hardware to find what you need. I am constantly testing the newest forensic software so that I can deliver the best product to my clients. III. My Experience: 15 years as a police investigator and 13 years in the private sector, 8 of which strictly in mobile forensics. I’ve worked along side the very best in my field and have taught hundreds of police investigators in digital forensics across the world. I’ve consulted for mega corporations, TV shows and famous authors. I’m involved in death penalty cases as well as corporate espionage cases. Oh, btw, I don’t do this work part time. This is what I do for a living. So, prices…. what do I charge? Well, I can’t give you a figure on your case until I know your needs. But what I can tell you is this: 1. I’m not cheap. You buy cheap, you buy twice. You do get what you pay for in mobile forensics. My prices are not exorbitant, but are based on the three factors I mentioned above and in line with other professionals in my industry. Many clients will pay top dollar for an automobile but cheat their case with a low-end examiner who mishandles their data (much of which determines their case, their future and their kids' future). Would you let a kid with a scalpel handle your heart transplant? Just how important is your case?? 2. I give 110% for every dollar I charge. If I can’t help you, I don’t want your case or your money. 3. I stand behind my work. After I’m done with your case, I’m still around. You won’t wait weeks to hear back from me. I’m not fly by night. I’m a professional who takes his cases seriously. If you want to see more of my credentials, go to the About page on my website. If you’re serious about your case, I’m serious in helping you. Here’s my number: 864-962-7307 Give me a call and let’s determine what your needs are! I want to help. If you are an Attorney, you will want to read this article by USA Today on the challenges to evidence used in cases involving "secret surveillance techniques and equipment" by the City of Baltimore. Nearly 2,000 cases face the chance of being thrown out.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/08/28/baltimore-convictions-challenged-secret-stingray-surveillance/71279112/ Dear Attorney,
I am writing this blog posting to you especially. For over 8 years I have been trying to get your attention. The technology industry has been evolving by leaps and bounds and you still do not grasp the concept of the evidence a cell phone can bring to your cases. I say "cases" because in nearly every case you deal with as an attorney, a cell phone has been used. You do want to win cases right? Then why do you ignore the fundamental trove of evidence contained in cell phones and the cell tower records? Are you afraid of it? Do you not know what to look for or ask for? Hey, it's ok, that's why I'm here. I'm here to help you. You see, back in 2007 I saw where investigations were going....they were going to the cell phone. So I embarked on learning all about these little marvels and the towers they work off of. So you don't have to worry about understanding the technology, just let me help you and your clients. I'll explain it in clear, easy to understand language that you, your client, the judge and the jury can understand. Some of your colleagues have been using my services and found them wonderful. They love my prices! I've been able to help many an attorney here in the USA. But for some reason, you won't call me. Is it the price? My prices are well within the industry standards. Is it for lack of interest? Remember, your case is only as good as the evidence you have. Don't you want the best you can get a hold of? What's keeping you from seeing the importance the cell phone evidence will bring to your case? For whatever reason it is, just know I'm still here willing to help you. Give me a call. Let me show you how cell phone evidence will revolutionize your success rate as an attorney. Kindest Regards, Tom Slovenski Founder Cellular Forensics, LLC ![]() Thanks for coming to my new company website! A website is like a never ending evolving and transforming piece of morph! As technology changes, so does a website. Now it's easier than ever to get a good looking site going and for only a few bucks a month. My experiences with websites ranges from awful to great. I'll stop there. If this is the first time you've encountered me and my company, please allow me to introduce myself to you. A short bio... I was a preacher, turned cop, turned PI, turned mobile forensics examiner/spyware expert/cell tower analyst. There, now you know my story for the last 30 years! I basically work on one thing....cell phone data. That data can be housed in a phone or in a tower. I find the data and then present the data to either a client, their attorney and ultimately to a court. Cell Phone Technology is a passion of mine. I am not a "weekend warrior" that plays with phones to make a couple quick bucks to buy a boat. Cell Phone Evidence is my livelihood. I don't have a retirement check or another full time job. Cellular Forensics, LLC is my full time job. I've been in business since 2007. To date, I have over 30 years of investigative experience. I don't mess around when it comes to my cases. I get the job done. Now...this blog. I've tried a blog before and it did not seem to reach the people I wanted to reach. My new web hosts have encouraged me to try again. So, I will. I like to write, to inform on the latest news in cell phone evidence and express my views when it comes to controversial issues. And believe me...with cell phone technology rocketing, there will be many controversial issues to talk about. So please, check back often. I'll try not to bore. I may even piss you off a time or two. But that's ok. Because if I didn't then I wouldn't' be doing my job. Thanks again for looking! Tom |
